Position Summary:
Bluegrass Orthopaedics (BGO), a leading provider of orthopedic care in Kentucky, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Radiology Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of radiology services across all BGO sites. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality delivery of diagnostic imaging services, including X-ray, MRI, and C-Arm procedures.
The Radiology Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supervising radiology staff, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, optimizing imaging workflows, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all radiology services (X-ray, MRI, and C-Arm)
- Supervise radiologic technologists and imaging staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Perform X-ray and MRI as needed to ensure proper coverage and training throughout all locations
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as standards set by the American College of
- Radiology (ACR) and other relevant bodies.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent imaging quality and patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative leadership to support diagnostic and procedural needs.
- Manage and maintain radiology equipment, including coordination of preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor and ensure proper documentation and image archiving via PACS and EMR systems.
- Track department metrics, including imaging volumes, turnaround times, and quality indicators, and present regular performance reports.
- Stay up to date with advancements in radiologic technology and best practices; recommend equipment upgrades and innovations as needed.
- Support accreditation efforts and participate in quality improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Ensure appropriate radiation safety practices and protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification:
- ARRT certification required.
- Advanced modality certification (e.g., MRI) preferred.
- Kentucky State Radiation Operator license required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferred experience in a clinical imaging setting.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in imaging systems (e.g., PACS, RIS) and EMR platforms.
- Ability to manage staff across multiple sites.
Work Environment & Travel:
- Travel between BGO locations required.
- Primarily clinical setting with routine interaction with patients, staff, and physicians.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on operational needs.
